An amazing Shipping Coordinator opportunity with a well established Shipping and Logistics company based in Suffolk. Salary up to £26,000 (subject to reviewal based on experience) + bonuses. OTE £31,000.


Requirements:


  • Good standard of education, including Mathematics and English.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proven ability to maintain accurate manual and electronic records.

  • Ability to manage unexpected operational challenges in a time-sensitive environment.

  • Customer-focused approach with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.

  • Strong collaboration skills, able to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • IT literate, with working knowledge of standard office applications.

  • Willingness to work outside normal office hours, including evenings and weekends.

  • Ability to travel within the UK; full driving licence preferred.

What You’ll Be Doing:


  • Coordinating operational activity to support timely vessel arrivals, berthing, and departures.

  • Acting as a key point of contact between vessel representatives, port stakeholders, and customers.

  • Preparing and managing operational and customs-related documentation.

  • Supporting compliance with port procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.

  • Assisting with the resolution of operational issues and unforeseen challenges.

  • Monitoring schedules and operational changes and providing updates to relevant parties.

  • Collaborating with customs authorities, logistics providers, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient processes.

  • Maintaining accurate records of operational activity and ensuring systems are kept up to date.

  • Following internal procedures and working instructions.

  • Providing out-of-hours operational support on a rota basis.

  • Undertaking additional reasonable duties appropriate to the role as required.
